This series is rooted in the spiritual and emotional depth exemplified by Mark Rothko’s work, whose legacy continues to inspire my exploration of abstraction.
I seek to engage with colour and form as vehicles for vulnerability and introspection. Inviting viewers into an intimate encounter with themes of human greed, connection, fragility, and the intangible aspects of existence. The paintings function as mirrors — not in a literal sense, but as spaces for reflection on both personal and collective emotional experience.
This work unfolds gradually, requiring openness and patience, much like Rothko’s own art, allowing resonance to emerge over time. It is an invitation to confront oneself honestly, exploring shared spiritual depths without presumption.
This was an intense project for me, it felt like I was holding a mirror up to myself.
I hope you see your reflection too.
